“The Gruffie” Scholarship Fund was established through the generosity of The Brown Family Foundation and many friends, in honor of Gruffie Clough. Friends of Gruffie honored her long history with the school, as both a staff and board member, by creating this scholarship in her name and surprising her with it — and this video tribute — at the 2012 Black Tie & Tennis Shoes gala.
The Gruffie is used for scholarship assistance for women ages 16 – 25 to support them in their pursuit of character development and self-discovery. Read on to meet some of the Gruffie scholars and click here to learn more about the scholarship.

“But more than those things, I learned how to carry people, how to be solid when others are struggling and how to let myself cry when that’s something you need. I learned how to be comfortable being exactly who I am in a group of twenty strangers.” Read the rest of Darylann’s blog post here!
2012: Elisabeth’s 50-day Canyonlands Leadership Semester
“My time on course was a giant Pause button: I was able to step away from expectations, and extend to myself the grace and time to live simply and build relationships with my group members and leaders. No longer was my future full of “Shoulds” and “Oughts”; rather, it was an endless string of Opportunities and Pinch Me This is Exciting!”
